GREECE AND TURKEY I: (From a Kathimerini editorial on the occasion of a visit to Greece by Turkish President Celal Bayar) «We have arrived, and it is a happy event indeed, at a time of mutual trust which rules out national suspicions. We do not have territorial claims against each other and, for some time, we have each accepted our mutual borders as final (…).» GREECE-TURKEY II: Mytilene, 29 – Last night a Turkish coast guard vessel attacked the fishing boats Aghios Dimitrios, Aghia Paraskevi and Cleoniki while they were fishing in Greek waters. The Cleoniki and its crew were taken to the old Fokaia port, where they were held by Turkish port authorities. The three fishing boats were fired on repeatedly by the Turkish boat. KKE: A decision by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) to oust Yiannis Ioannidis has indicated an acute crisis within the KKE leadership, which will result in a fierce bitter fight to the end among various factions. YIANNIS IOANNIDIS: Last night’s broadcast by the radio station Free Greece included a report on the sessions of a plenary meeting in mid-November of the Communist Party’s Fourth Central Committee, when the decision was made to oust Communist leader Yiannis Ioannidis. MALMO-PAOK 2-1: Thessaloniki, 29 – The Swedish soccer team Malmo beat PAOK 2-1 during today’s first match here.
