Tension between Cosco and Piraeus Port

Problems reported in the implementation of the concession agreement between Chinese company Cosco and the Piraeus Port Authority (OLP) have led to tensions between the two parties, sources suggest, as well as the recent resignation of OLP alternate managing director Nikos Moustakis.

One of the issues pending is payment of the first installment of the annual leasing agreement with the port of Piraeus, as Cosco insists on withholding payment for the period during which employees and truck drivers were on strike.
