Suburban teen hacker arrested

An 18-year-old Greek teenager alleged to have hacked into the electronic systems of the FBI and Interpol has been arrested, the Greek police?s electronic crime squad said on Tuesday.

Greek authorities had been seeking the youth for the past two years, during which time he is alleged to have been honing his hacking skills and had been known on the Internet as ?Splitter.?

The teenager, who was traced to his home in Aghios Dimitrios, southern Athens, reportedly also took over the computers of unsuspecting users, accessed their data and used it to obtain new credit cards in their names.

A raid on his home turned up several credit cards and thousands of euros in cash.

The youth reportedly has a tattoo on his back saying ?Capitalism is opportunity and opportunity is freedom? in several languages.

According to the Guardian newspaper, 25 percent of all the hackers in the US are FBI informants.
