Asteras Tripolis hires Oscar Fernandez
Asteras Tripolis announced on June 15 that its new manager is Oscar Fernandez.
The Spaniard has been hired for the next two years and is taking over from Pavlos Dermitzakis, as talks with Makis Havos had fallen through.
Fernandez was the coach of Valencia’s B team for the last five years, and even had a spell coaching the main Valencia side in the Primera Division when Quique Sanchez Flores left.
His assistant will be countryman Jesus Casas, who has worked with Barcelona?s B team.
Greece is rapidly turning into something of a destination for Spanish coaches, as Asteras Tripolis?s action comes after Olympiakos, AEK and Olympiakos Volou also turned to the Iberian country for their managers.
