Panathinaikos conquers PAOK

Panathinaikos defeated PAOK 3-1 away on October 30 to take a two-point lead over champion Olympiakos, which drew at home against OFI, and stay level on points with surprise-package Atromitos at the top of the Super League.

The Greens grabbed a precious win at Toumba through goals from Silva Cleyton, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie and Sebastian Leto, with PAOK scoring a late consolation goal from the penalty spot via Adelino Vieirinha.

Panathinaikos has 16 points, like Atromitos, but the latter has played two more games. Olympiakos, who visits Borussia Dortmund on November 1 for the Champions League, has 14 points.

AEK produced its first win under coach Nikos Kostenoglou on Sunday afternoon, thrashing visiting Aris 3-0 to climb to fourth with 13 points.

Its goals came from Nikos Liberopoulos and Juan Cala, as well as a Nikos Lazaridis own goal. The result could put an end to Sakis Tsiolis?s spell on the Aris bench, according to reports.

Earlier in the day, Ergotelis returned to its winning ways after 50 days, beating Asteras Tripolis 2-0 at home through first-half goals by Giorgi Shashiashvili and Nikos Katsikokeris.
