Metro workers planning strikes after unionist attack

Athens metro staff are reportedly planning two 24-hour strikes on Thursday and Friday to protest an attack on the head of their union, Antonis Stamatopoulos, and a colleague on Monday outside the Piraeus electric railway station.

Workers are expected to finalize their decision on Wednesday.

The attack occurred after an apparent falling out between metro workers and representatives of the union for employees of the Athens-Piraeus electric railway (ISAP).
