Coca-Cola factory in Thessaloniki back in operation

The Coca-Cola factory in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, is back in operation after workers ended a 42-day strike, Skai reported on Friday.

Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC), which is active is 27 European countries, last month said that production would cease at its Thessaloniki and Patras facilities in Greece as part of the group?s restructuring program aimed at reducing operational costs.

The move was expected to affect some 30 jobs.

In a deal reached with employees on Friday, CCHBC said it would keep the factory in operation while stopping imports from the company’s factory in Bulgaria, the report said.
