Putting our future at risk

It is understandable that Greece?s political parties are increasingly leaning toward populism and double-talk as the country gets ready to hold national elections.

We have observed plenty of cock-fighting with no apparent objectives, while hyperbole and accusations are flying all over the local political spectrum.

At the same time, though, the country?s citizens are both angry and much more aware of the way things stand this time around.

The bad habits displayed by the parties are provoking repulsion and intensifying the electorate?s wrath toward the political system.

It would be wise for everyone to realize this fact, especially Greece?s main political parties, which thanks to their officials and representatives are in danger of directing voters right into the protest camp, ultimately endangering the country?s stability and future.

It?s about time they showed that they have learned some kind of lesson from the crisis.
