Court upholds Panayiotis Psomiadis’s prison term
A Thessaloniki appeals court on Monday upheld a 12-month jail sentence against Panayiotis Psomiadis (photo), who was suspended from his position as governor of Central Macedonia last summer after reducing a fine for local gas station that sold adulterated fuel.
Psomiadis, denying any serious wrongdoing, had appealed the 12-month jail term that he was sentenced to last year.
But the court rejected his appeal, and upheld the term, which is suspended for three years.
