Police issue HIV warning
Police on Sunday said that the publication of the medical details and name of Tatiana Bukhtoyarova, a 22 year-old Russian national who allegedly worked at a brothel at 22 Fokais Street in central Athens, were released after the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEEL) found her to be HIV positive, ?for the protection of society as a whole.?
The issue has raised some controversy, voiced mainly through social networking websites, regarding the police?s right to publish personal and medical details of an individual.
The prostitute also faces felony charges for causing bodily harm, among other accusations.
Meanwhile, KEEL on Sunday advised visitors to the brothel to in question to undergo an HIV test.
