Robbers torture, murder woman, 67
Police in the northwestern city of Ioannina were on Thursday seeking the perpetrators behind the murder of a 67-year-old woman whose body was found bound hand and foot with masking tape in an unrented apartment belonging to her next to her home.
The woman’s body bore bruises to the head and neck, suggesting that she had been struck by a blunt object or strangled or both.
It appears that the intruders transferred the woman from her home and killed her in the apartment next door, apparently after torturing her. The victim’s husband, who reportedly suffers from Altzheimer’s disease had been at the couple’s home at the time of the assault and was robbed, according to police.
