On the brink of disaster
This is an extremely crucial period for Greece. We are a breath away from returning to the drachma and on the brink of disaster. Many of our fellow citizens don?t seem to realize this and the situation is terribly dangerous. They have been convinced by the propaganda of both visible and invisible political forces as well as pro-drachma media. Most importantly, much of society is either in a state of personal or family bankruptcy or having a tough time making ends meet. They feel that they have nothing to lose in case of a drachma comeback or a disorderly default, compared to where they stand today.
It seems we?ll have to experience a major shock or a complete disaster to get back to reality. Pro-European powers with common sense bear a huge portion of responsibility for our being where we are now. This is because they left their rivals? propaganda go unanswered and because they failed to put forward even a single persuasive, charismatic leader to fight for the euro. If those who are being put to the test are not convinced of the need to fight this battle, then its outcome will have been determined in advance.
