Collective labor contracts to cease applying from Monday
As of Monday, collective labor contracts which have not been signed by employers and unions in the last three months will cease to apply, in line with new labor legislation passed earlier this year.
The change means that employees who had previously been covered by the sector-specific contracts can no longer depend on some of the rights included in the pay deals.
Employers now have the right to negotiate individual agreements with their workers. They also have the right to reduce employees? wages without their staff?s agreement as long as the new salary is not lower than the minimum agreed in the collective contract.
Supplementary pay for employees with children and degrees will continue to apply.
