The vital role of law and order
Greek society has been desperately lacking in terms of law and order for a number of years now.
The prolonged tolerance of any kind of lawlessness, the acceptance of political violence generated from both the left and the right extremes of the country?s political spectrum, as well as the immunity long enjoyed by Greece?s high and mighty, are but a few of the principal factors which ultimately led to the sad state of affairs which we find ourselves embroiled in today.
What is absolutely vital right now is that the people who have undertaken the difficult task of safeguarding the country?s public safety are given a boost and a sense of empowerment, as opposed to seeing their position becoming increasingly weaker, if not scorned, as has been the case of late.
It goes without saying that Greek society cannot and must not be allowed to turn into a large-scale, unruly jungle where the prevailing laws are dictated by its most powerful and most violent members.
