Kavala hires third coach after seven losses

All top five teams of the Basket League continued with victories in the seventh round of games, while Kavala remained winless and sacked its coach. Again.

Olympiakos stayed alone on top with an emphatic 88-72 win over Kolossos on Rhodes on Sunday, with an impressive Kyle Hines scoring 14 points and collecting 11 rebounds in less than 20 minutes.

Panionios, in second, braved the challenge of lowly Ilisiakos at Zografou, winning 75-69 on Saturday, to stay one point ahead of Panathinaikos, AGO Rethymnou and PAOK.

Panathinaikos produced a stunning third period against Panelefsiniakos to win 95-68 on Monday, after Rethymno had beaten visiting Apollon Patras 77-71 and PAOK downed host Aris 72-63 in the Thessaloniki derby on Saturday.

Kavala lost 83-82 at home to high-flying Ikaros Kallitheas and dismissed its second coach this season, Dimitris Galanis, to hire a third, Angelos Koronios on Monday, while Peristeri defeated KAO Dramas 78-76 at home.
