Doctor cleared of two-year prison term
A neurosurgeon who received a two-year prison term for a failed operation that left his patient disabled had his sentence quashed on appeal Thursday.
Dimitris Rologis was one of three doctors that were charged in connection to the operation. One of the three surgeons committed suicide before the original trial took place. The other doctor was cleared of charges.
The patient was Giorgos Alvertis, the son-in-law of the late Athens Mayor and New Democracy leader Miltiades Evert.
