Quake hits Gavdos

A moderate earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale shook the southeastern Aegean island of Gavdos Monday, according to the National Observatory of Athens.

The quake’s epicenter was 7 kilometers off the southeastern coast of the island, which is located south of Crete.
