More than 9,000 pensions paid to relatives of dead civil servants under suspicion

More than 9,000 pensions that are paid to the widows and unmarried daughters of civil servants who have died are suspicious, according to the Labor Ministry.

Officials have been cross-checking the pensions against other records.

It was found that a total of 9,371 pensions may be the subject of wrongful claims. This accounts for about 8 percent of the pensions paid to the surviving relatives of civil servants who have died.
