National cricket team coach arrested on suspicion of child molestation
Reports suggest that police in Corfu arrested on Friday night the coach of the Greek national cricket team on suspicions of child molestation.
A 48-year-old man was caught in the act, according to local reports, after police responded to calls by neighbors following unusual behavior by the suspect and stormed into the house to find him with a young man who is said to be a member of the national team.
Local police sources said that the man had repeatedly abused the under-age youngster and on Sunday he will be led in front of a prosecutor, according to the express trial regulations.
The man claimed this had only been the first time he had ever engaged in such an act.
Corfu is the home of the national team as well as the Greek cricket federation.
