French plans for a return to Greece

French enterprises may have left Greece in their majority in recent years, but their interest in the local market has been rekindled as they are looking forward to a gradual rebound offering opportunities for profit-making business moves.

That was the outcome of a meeting of senior officials from Greek and French firms in Paris that the international arm of the Federation of Hellenic Enterprises (SEV) and its French counterpart, MEDEF International, organized this week.

The two sides agreed to hold their next meeting of Greek and French companies in November in Athens, including at least 20 French firms that now have the Greek market in their plans.

The 30 French firms that participated in this week’s meeting came from a variety of sectors, while the Greek companies were from the domains of pharmaceuticals, mining, energy, heavy industry, construction materials, tourism, and investment and financial services.
