Esthetician faces prosecutor for administering injections

An esthetician who was administering injections of hyaluronic acid, a substance that helps soften the signs of aging, will face an Athens prosecutor following a complaint lodged by the Athens Medical Association (AMA).

In a statement released to the press, the AMA’s board said that the esthetician was practicing medicine illegally by offering treatments without the requisite training and medical certification.

The AMA accused the esthetician of placing public health at risk and has demanded a full inquiry.
