Fines of up to 100,000 euros if firms do not cooperate with tax inspectors

Companies that do not cooperate with tax inspectors face fines of up to 100,000 euros, according to reports.

The general secretary for revenues, Haris Theocharis has instructed the heads of tax offices that fines of 10,000 to 100,000 euros should be imposed in such cases, according to Naftemporiki newspaper.

Theocharis has also asked for 40 percent of tax inspections on retail stores, bars and restaurants to take place in the afternoons or evenings.
