Arson ruled out as cause of Piraeus hospital fire
The fire service is investigating the cause of a fire on Sunday at the Metaxas Hospital in Piraeus, south of Athens.
No one was injured in the blaze which broke out in the basement of the clinic at about 2.30 p.m. and destroyed medical supplies and part of the archive.
Some patients were transferred to other wings of the clinic because of the smoke.
Reports on Monday said authorities were ruling out arson as the cause of the fire and that it was most likely the result of an electrical short circuit.
