Greek crash victim’s donated cornea goes to 17-year-old
The cornea of a 23-year-old woman who died last week after the KTEL intercity bus she was traveling on crashed into a parked truck on the national highway near Malgara, northern Greece, was successfully transplanted on Tuesday into the eye of a 17-year-old youth with a degenerative ocular disorder.
Doctors at Thessaloniki’s AHEPA University Hospital said the youth would be discharged in two to three days.
The girl’s parents donated all her organs for transplant.
