Golden Dawn candidate taken to court
Themis Skordeli, a member of Golden Dawn and a parliamentary candidate with the ultranationalist party, was expected to be taken to court on Wednesday. The 50-year-old was facing charges of forgery, illegal possession of smoke bombs as well as breaking the intellectual property rights law.
Skordeli was arrested in October last year after police officers discovered 18 smoke bombs, bank statements with large deposits, two bags with counterfeit CDs and DVDs as well as lists containing names and addresses of migrants.
Skordeli’s trial had been postponed several times as she had repeatedly cited psychological problems and had submitted medical reports to support her claims.
