Couple sought in connection to TT corruption case arrested in London

A Greek couple being sought by Greek police in connection to the ongoing investigation regarding the Hellenic Postbank corruption case was arrested in London on Wednesday.

According to initial reports, businessman Kyriakos Griveas and his spouse, Anastasia Vatsika, turned themselves in to Scotland Yard on Wednesday. Interpol had issued an international “red notice” for their arrest following an arrest warrant issued by Greek authorities.

Griveas is among a group of prominent businessmen who have been embroiled in the scandal. According to prosecutors the bank issued 17 million euros in loans to the businessman. In the meantime, investigators had frozen the couple’s assets and had asked judicial authorities to access their personal and corporate accounts.
