Former EAS executives charged with squandering 50 mln euros in public funds

Nineteen former executives at Hellenic Defense Systems (EAS) have been charged with squandering more than 50 million euros in public funds between 2006-2010.

Charges were filed on Monday following a preliminary inquiry by corruption prosecutor Antonis Eleftherianos. The defendants are accused of granting up to four times higher compensation to employees that were pensioned off by the company.

The defendants denied the charges.
