Top court rebuffs Lavrentiadis appeal

The Council of State has rejected an appeal by Lavrentis Lavrentiadis, the former major stakeholder in Proton Bank who is in custody pending trial for embezzlement, for a decision by the Bank of Greece revoking the lender’s operating license to be deemed illegal and unconstitutional.

The decision was taken by the plenary session of the country’s highest administrative court.
