Greek police seeking Russian woman, son over murder of pensioner

Police said on Wednesday that they were seeking a 50-year-old Russian woman, her 18-year-old son and a third unidentified individual in connection with the murder in October 2012 of a 71-year-old woman in her apartment in Halandri, northeastern Athens.

The 50-year-old is said to have worked as a housekeeper for the elderly woman and the latter’s 87-year-old partner, who the trio are alleged to have tried to kill too.

The 71-year-old died of asphyxiation, according to a coroner’s report, while the 87-year-old was left with bruises and scratches.

The police have published photographs of the 50-year-old and her son on the force’s website at http://www.astynomia.gr/index.php?option=ozo_content&lang=%27..%27&perform=view&id=37287&Itemid=1241&lang=
