Harmonized consumer price index down 1.4 pct y-o-y in January

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) fell by 1.4 percent in January 2014 compared with a year earlier, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Monday.

The HICP in January 2014 compared with December 2013 decreased by 0.9 percent. In January 2013, the monthly rate of change of the HICP was -1.4 percent, according to ELSTAT.

In the 12-month period from February 2013 to January 2014 compared with the period from February 2012 to January 2013 the annual average rate of change of the HICP was -1.0 percent.
