Hope for universities

In a rare instance of consensus, the country’s political powers recently agreed to alter the regime at Greek universities following lengthy discussions over the strategy used to elect members of the councils that govern the higher education facilities.

Nevertheless, it looks as though this considerable effort is now being eroded by the day and that universities are once again being taken hostage by unionist and partisan interests.

Greek citizens, however, wish to see serious, well-organized and polished higher education facilities to send their children to as opposed to dirty, run-down campuses focused on political and other exchange.

The healthier elements of each institution ought to come together and show some initiative before Greek universities are allowed to return to their previous dead end, incapable of offering any kind of perspective to students who have already put up a tough fight to be admitted to them in the first place.
