Minister praises late actor-singer Boulas
“A sweet, lovable man” was how Culture Minister Panos Panyiotopoulos described actor and singer Sakis Boulas on Friday on learning that the 60-year-old had died after a short fight against cancer.
“He was a singer with an outstanding, personal quality and an actor with a genuine connection with people,” Panayiotopoulos said in a statement.
The versatile artist made several studio albums and wrote songs for other musicians while starring in dozens of TV series and on the big screen.
He was part of a group of well-known Greek performers that put on a popular cabaret-type show at the Ah Maria club in Exarchia, central Athens, during the 1980s.
