Finance Ministry collects 25 mln from checks on transfers of money abroad
The government has collected 25 million euros after conducting checks on some 54,000 money transfers made by Greeks, the Finance Ministry said on Monday.
According to the ministry, after checking 54,000 transfers, more details were sought in connection to almost 25,000 cases in which money was sent abroad.
Offenses were discovered in about one in three cases, said the ministry, adding that the checks have not been completed yet.
The ministry’s statement added that around 70 million euros has been collected so far from checks on offshore companies.
