Experts blame high number of flu deaths in Greece on lack of jabs
The Athens Medical Association (ISA) has suggested that the spread of flu, which has claimed 58 lives in Greece this year, has been aided by a lack of vaccinations.
According to ISA, pharmacists reported a shortage of flu jabs and doses were not supplied to EOPYY health centers.
“It is tragic that people are dying for a vaccine that costs 6 euros,” said ISA in a statement.
The group added that it estimates about 40 percent of Greeks could be exposed to the H1N1 virus, which is prevalent at the moment.
