Turkish container ship runs aground off Myconos; crew safe
The crew of a Turkish container ship that ran into rocks off the island of Myconos were forced to abandon their vessel after it began to take on water on Saturday, the Greek Coast Guard said.
Eleven of the Turkish crew were rescued by a coast guard patrol boat, while the other three were air-lifted by helicopter.
It is not clear what caused the ship, which was carrying 204 containers from Izmir to Tunisia, to run aground.
