Drug bust leads to discovey of illegal substance packaging unit in Aspropyrgos

A lorry carrying more than 345 kilos of unprocessed cannabis intercepted at the port of Corinth in the early hours of Wednesday led to the discovery of an illegal substance packaging unit in a warehouse in Aspropyrgos, southestern Attica, later in the day.

According to early reports, the warehouse also served as a lab for the development of special compartments in vehicles for the transportation of drugs.

The lorry’s driver and owner were arrested and expected to face a prosecutor on Wednesday.
