Plane mechanics ‘cheated’ on tests

A private school in Attica is under investigation after complaints from abroad that it allowed student aircraft mechanics to obtain certificates under false pretences, Kathimerini understands.

Britain’s Civil Aviation Authority has filed a complaint with the European Aviation Safety Agency, which is based in Germany, regarding the Greek school. It claims that would-be mechanics who attended its courses in 2012 and 2013 were given the answers to exam questions before they sat the tests.

A source at Greece’s Civil Aviation Authority (YPA) said that it has reported the matter to the first instance prosecutor’s office in Athens and that on February 26 it withdrew the school’s permit and annulled the results of the tests, taken by some 600 people.
