Arrivals at Greek airports soar in 2014

Air arrivals from abroad posted a 16.9 percent yearly increase in the first two months of the year, according to data released by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The number of air arrivals in Greece came to 602,222, from 515,379 in the same period in 2013.

Most flew in to the country’s biggest airport in Athens.

Air arrivals grew by 19.3 percent in February alone.

Meanwhile, Greek package holidays are particularly popular this year among Central Europeans, with German tour operators and travel agencies reporting an annual increase in bookings of up to 52 percent for this summer period.
