Cephalonia residents to receive more than 6 mln euros in damages, insurers say

More than 6 million euros will be distributed to the residents of Cephalonia, the Ionian island that suffered significant damage in a large earthquake in January, the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies (HAIC) said on Friday.

The association has recorded a total of 415 claims of damages to insured buildings from January’s 5.8-Richter quake, the HAIC said, adding that the majority related to structural problems.
