Bus driver rapped for turning wheel over to teenager

Regional authorities in western Greece on Thursday sent a prosecutor in Patra written complaints from two school principals after the driver of a local school bus allegedly allowed a 16-year-old pupil to take the wheel of his vehicle for several kilometers with more than 40 schoolchildren aboard.

According to witnesses, the bus driver handed the vehicle over to the 16-year-old after the latter criticized his driving.

The boy took the wheel, despite the protests of dozens of students from the middle and high schools of Dafni, in Kalavryta, and drove some 10 kilometers through the country roads of Achaia.
