Crackdown on Roma camp reveals suspected looted copper

A police crackdown on three Roma settlements in different parts of Thesprotia, northern Greece, on Thursday led to the detention of six people and to the confiscation of large quantities of copper.

Police were reportedly investigating whether any of the detainees belong to rackets that have been removing lengths of copper cabling from railway tracks to melt down the metal for sale.
