Tsipras seeks televised debate with Greek PM

The spokesman for leftist opposition SYRIZA, Panos Skourletis, on Friday relayed to government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras’ proposal for a televised debate with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.

According to sources, SYRIZA’s proposal foresees two separate debates between Tsipras and Samaras – the first on “economic developments relating to the new mid-term program” and the second relating to national and European issues.

An announcement by SYRIZA, issued after a meeting on Friday morning between Skourletis and Kedikoglou, said the latter would pass on the request.
