Athens transport organization to launch bus linking port to Acropolis

The Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) is planning to inaugurate a new express bus line linking the port of Piraeus to the Acropolis Archaeological Site and Museum, before reaching Syntagma Square.

The new route, named the X80, will conduct a regular cyclical journey from the country’s biggest port to its biggest tourist attractions, making four stops between Akti Xaveriou on the Piraeus coast and Syntagma Square and another four on the return journey.

The Piraeus terminus will be located on Akti Xaveriou between Maria Hadzikyriakou and Kleisovis streets.

The service is expected to facilitate tourists traveling between Athens and the islands faster than than the 040 bus linking Piraeus to Syntagma, which makes dozens of stops through the suburb of Kallithea along the way.
