Suspected robber linked to dozens of home invasions in northeastern Attica

A man arrested in northeastern Attica on Tuesday is suspected of belonging to a gang of robbers that has carried out dozens of home break-ins over the past few months.

The 27-year-old suspect, an Albanian national, is suspected of being among three men who broke into 14 homes in Pikermi while their residents were asleep in bed, and to have threatened the residents with violence as they searched the homes for valuables such as cash, jewelry and electronic equipment. Their signature method was to wield a knife or a screwdriver.

The same gang is also believed to have carried out an additional 35 robberies on homes while their residents were away, making off with an estimated total of 500,000 euros’ worth of loot.

The other two suspects are being sought.
