Armed forces, police officers allowed ‘neutral,’ discreet tattoos, court rules
The Council of State, the country’s highest administrative court, on Friday ruled that members of the police and the armed forces should be allowed to sport tattoos as long as these are located on parts of the body that are covered by their uniforms when they are on duty.
The ruling also stipulated that the subject matter of the body art for members of the security forces should be “neutral.”
The ruling vindicates two young men who were turned down for the special guard force because of their tattoos.
