Pangalos blasted over comments on Dourou, Glezos

Former Deputy Prime Minister Theodoros Pangalos sparked a row on Tuesday by calling for SYRIZA’s candidate for the Attica governorship Rena Dourou to pose in a bikini.

Speaking on Vima FM, Pangalos voiced his objection to fly-posting by Dourou’s campaign team.

“Is she putting her poster up because she thinks she is good-looking?» said the ex-PASOK veteran.

“I want her campaign to end so we can see a full body picture of her in a bikini,” he added.

“Let’s see who we are voting for.”

Pangalos also referred to SYRIZA’s MEP candidate Manolis Glezos, as a “buffoon.”

The former minister then said that he would not vote for his old party, PASOK, in the upcoming European Parliament elections but for New Democracy or To Potami.

“When political dialogue hits rock bottom, women are its first victims,” said Dourou.

PASOK spokesman Odysseas Constantinopoulos suggested that Pangalos would drive more supporters to SYRIZA.

“Mr Pangalos’s comments are unacceptable and provocative,” he said.
