Majority of Greeks harbor anti-Semitic feelings, global survey finds

An international survey carried out by the Anti-Defamation League showed that 26 percent of the globe’s population is anti-Semitic.

The poll, which was conducted in 102 countries among 53,100 people between July 2013 and February 2014, was the first to be carried out on such a broad scale and showed that the most anti-Semitic regions were North Africa and the Middle East.

In Greece, 69 percent of respondents held anti-Semitic views, the survey found. According to the report 85 percent of participants believe that Jews have too much influence over the world of business, 82 percent think that Jews have too much influence in international financial markets and 74 percent believe that Jews have too much power in global affairs. Sixty percent of Greek participants also felt that Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust.
