Athens, Peloponnese road accidents lead to one death, 10 injuries

An unidentified man was killed in the early hours on Monday while trying to cross Syngrou Avenue, south of central Athens, after crashing his vehicle into a protective barrier.

Investigators believe he was trying to reach help after sustaining injuries in the crash when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle on the high-speed avenue.

Meanwhile, 10 people, including five children, were in hospital in Nafplio in the northern Peloponnese after two vehicles smashed into each other earlier in the day on the road between Nafplio and Tolo.
