Court orders demolition of house in Kaisariani Forest
Philodassiki, an environmental group in Athens, won a court victory on Wednesday when the Council of State ordered the demolition of a 70-square meter building that has been erected in Kaisariani Forest, eastern Athens.
The Attica regional authority had refused to order the building’s destruction, prompting the group of forest lovers to take their case to the country’s highest administrative court.
Philodassaki argued that the building was built on land that was slated for reforestation in 1934.
