Greek MEPs decided as vote count concludes

The process of counting the votes for European Parliament candidates was due to be completed over the weekend, with the 21 MEPs that will represent Greece and their parties appearing to have been decided from Friday.

SYRIZA has elected six parliamentarians: Manolis Glezos (photo), Sofia Sakorafa, Dimitris Papadimoulis, Constantina Kuneva, Giorgis Katrougalos and Constantinos Chrysogonos.

New Democracy will be represented by five MEPs: Manolis Kefaloyiannis, Maria Spyraki, Eliza Vozemberg, Giorgos Kyrtsos and Theodoros Zagorakis.

Golden Dawn’s three European lawmakers will be Eleftherios Synadinos, Lambros Fountoulis and Giorgos Epitideios.

The PASOK-led Elia alliance elected Eva Kaili and Nikos Androulakis.

To Potami is sending Giorgos Grammatikakis and Miltiadis Kyrkos to the European Parliament.

Constantinos Papadakis and Sotiris Zorianopoulos will represent the Greek Communist Party.

Independent Greeks’ sole representative will be Notis Marias.

Glezos, a World War II hero who has already served a term in Brussels and Strasbourg, was due to gather some 400,000 votes, making him by far the most well-supported candidate.
